Description
In this course, we will delve into the fascinating realm of Philosophy and Ancient Thought. Throughout history, Europe has been a hub for diverse traditions of thought, religion, and philosophies. However, it is important to note that philosophical ideas have also flourished in various other parts of the world. As we embark on this course preview, it is worth exploring our understanding of the Hellenic term 'Philosophy'. While there may be different interpretations and perspectives on its meaning, we can acknowledge that philosophy encompasses a wide range of intellectual pursuits aimed at understanding fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, ethics, and more.By examining the rich tapestry of philosophical ideas from the Ancient Cultures in the Archaic period, we can gain insights into human nature and the complexities of our existence. Join me as we explore the vast landscape of Philosophy and Ancient thought to deepen our understanding of the world around us.-Next, I tell the resumé of the Second Article from the course "The Golden Age of Philosophy and Thought: A History of Archaic Philosophy and Wisdom of the Old World." In this particular section, we will delve into the fascinating realm of philosophy and ancient thought, focusing specifically on the Eleusinian and Bacchic Mysteries. As we explore this topic, it is important to note that our primary source of information is the book written by Thomas Taylor. This comprehensive work sheds light on the profound significance and intricate details surrounding these mystic traditions.Throughout history, philosophy has played a pivotal role in shaping human understanding and guiding intellectual pursuits. The Eleusinian and Bacchic Mysteries hold a special place in this narrative, as they offer unique insights into ancient wisdom that has transcended time.By examining these mysteries through the lens provided by Thomas Taylor's book, we can gain a deeper appreciation for their philosophical underpinnings. From uncovering hidden truths to exploring profound spiritual experiences, these ancient practices continue to captivate scholars and enthusiasts alike.Join me on this enlightening journey as we unravel the secrets of the Eleusinian and Bacchic Mysteries based on Thomas Taylor's invaluable research. Prepare to embark on a voyage through time as we explore the rich tapestry of philosophy and thought from the old world.-The outlines of what I can tell about The Third Article explores the Pre-Platonic Philosophers, who were highly esteemed figures in antiquity and served as influential models for subsequent thinkers and philosophers. The content of this article is based on Greg Whitlock's translation of Nietzsche's aforementioned book, aiming to shed light on the types of wise men revered during that time period.By delving into the wisdom and teachings of these pre-Platonic philosophers, we can gain valuable insights into the foundations of ancient philosophical thought. Their ideas and perspectives laid the groundwork for later philosophical schools and influenced the development of Western philosophy as a whole.Through an examination of their beliefs, principles, and contributions to intellectual discourse, we can appreciate how these wise men shaped the intellectual landscape of their era. Their enduring influence continues to resonate with contemporary thinkers, making them worthy subjects for study and contemplation.Join us as we explore the lives and philosophies of these esteemed individuals, uncovering their lasting impact on ancient thought and their role as guiding lights for future generations of philosophers.

Acustica Audio Brown 2023
File Size: 198.3 MB

Brown includes emulations of vintage hardware units originally made for the US Army, and widely used in AM radio broadcasts. Due to their striking sonic character, these units grew in popularity, and were used in recording and mixing studios worldwide.

Your Vintage, Military Radio-Inspired Secret Weapon
Brown includes an authentic collection of rare, all-tube compressor units from the 1940s and 50s, along with classic reissues sought-after by collectors worldwide. Immortal records by Frank Sinatra, Beach Boys, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, and more, owe an important part of their sound to these units; they were commonplace in studios owned by Capitol Records, A&M Records, Motown West, Record Plant, and more.
Just like the original, our exceptional plugin suite includes a channel strip, an equalizer, a dual-mono compressor, and a preamp module.
It also features 3 different switchable dynamics processor emulations (the original model, custom mode, and a "Frankenstein" mode created by Acustica) with preamp emulations.
"Do you copy?"
Brown's EQ includes three switchable equalizers: "
A 4-band semi-parametric EQ with high-pass and low-pass filters.
A 3-band inductor-based EQ with all discrete op-amp design.
A 2-band discrete transistor and active inductor EQ derived from historic US-made units from the late 1960s and classic reissues.
60 preamp emulations derived from vintage and modern units from the 1940s to the present day (24 line preamps, 24 mic preamps, and 12 custom preamps).

Acustica Audio Coral 2 2023
File Size: 226.5 MB

Coral 2 includes an equalizer, a compressor, an elliptical filter, and a preamp module - plus a new, powerful M/S Baxandall EQ, enabling you to shape the tone of your masters to perfection.

Transparent and Tridimensional
Coral 2 is an extremely transparent processor thanks to the smooth, broad curves of its equalizer and the uniquely forgiving behavior of its dynamic section. Notably, the compressor applies an ultra-soft clipping layer to the signal; this gentle and musical application saves the transients from being brutally chopped off.
The M/S Bax EQ: Take Back Control
We took inspiration from the classic Baxandall shelving curves of the 1950s and created a uniquely powerful and smooth equalizer designed to be a "finishing EQ." The added M/S features make this a perfect equalizer for tracking, mixing, and mastering, as well as a great master bus EQ.
Elliptical Filter
The Elliptical Filter is a crossover filter followed by a stereo image controller; it alters the stereo width of the incoming signal below a user-defined frequency. The cutoff frequency can be selected from 20 stepped values ranging from 40 Hz to 360 Hz.
Preamplifier Module
Coral's preamp module includes 3 different "flavors" for you to choose from: Air, Tape, and Coral. It gives you the option to use them in dual mono (a "perfected" preamp," which is completely identical for both channels) or in stereo mode (a preamp containing slight differences between the left and right channels, just like a preamp would in the hardware domain).

Acustica Audio Ruby 2 2023
File Size: 243.5 MB

Ruby 2 faithfully replicates the boutique VT-5 vacuum-tube equalizer built by D.W. Fearn.

D.W. Fearn VT-5 in Your DAW
Ruby is a faithful representation of the D.W. Fearn's highly sought-after vacuum tube equalizer VT-5, and is officially endorsed by Fearn himself. The original hardware equalizer uses passive LC circuitry with class-A triode vacuum tube stages for the input and output. The input transformer is made by Jensen, and the output stage utilizes the same custom Jensen transformer that is used on the VT-1/VT-2 mic preamps.
The preamp stage dynamically recreates the pass-through sonic coloration of the original hardware unit, which includes the harmonic distortion behavior of the hardware, the inherent phase shift, and the frequency response deviations. When the preamp is switched off, the plugin offers a cleaner and more linear sonic character than the original version.
Gain staging into the plugin behaves similarly to hitting the original unit at different input levels, which is why Ruby comes with an "input trim" control. This allows for one-knob internal gain control by means of hidden linked input and output gain stages.
