About This Class
Your project for this class is to create a drawing of red poppies using oil pastels.
Description
Welcome to the course on botanical drawing with oil pastels!
In this course, you will learn to merge the tenderness of the flowers and the naive, expressive nature of oil pastels into simple minimalistic drawings.*This course will include several short classes, and every time together we will create a drawing of different flowers.
This is the second class of the*Botanical Drawing course and we'll continue by drawing*red poppies -*gorgeous wildflowers famous for their shiny red*petals.
We'll start by looking at inspiration and reference photos for our drawing, and next, we will modify the reference image on a go to fit our naive and simple drawing style and the oil pastel features. Finally, we will develop our botanical drawing*layer by layer.
Tools & Materials
oil pastels: permanent red, olive brown, yellow-brown
watercolor paper
masking tape
This class is probably best suited for beginners who have no experience with oil pastels and for anyone who likes creating botanical drawings and whats to try out such a unique medium as oil pastels.

Creating and combining soft and sharp shapes can be tricky when you're learning watercolours. Painting wet-in-wet is often associated with a loss of control. Without an understanding of timing, you can create a mess!But don't worry, I'm going to show you the importance of timing when painting wet-in-wet. I'll show you how to gain control, and layer effectively to create some soft textures such as shrubs and grass, while painting sharp highlights on the rocks, boats and water. It's easier than you think! Wet-in-wet techniques brings out the natural strengths of watercolour, and is essential for your watercolour journey. Creating fine details to finish off your painting are crucial when painting trees, rocks and grass, as it creates contrast and interest. But understanding when to add them in is crucial.Before we start with the painting, I'll show you how to simplify shapes and sketch in large shapes such as sky, water, shadows, trees, grass and land. This essential grammatical element can be subtle and is often used by native speakers without too much thought or effort. It is demonstrated by leaning slightly (not turning the shoulders as we do in storytelling), from the non-dominant to the dominant side. Such a simple movement, but it can be used to demonstrate opposing groups, options, sequence of events, or even questions that involve "which." in some cases, the contrast of structure can allow the signer to establish different periods of time or places, and keep referring back to the same idea or thought, without having to re-explain it one of the more simple aspects of this structure is that it can represent a contraction (most commonly, "and" and "or"). One example might be: "I was born in California, and later moved to Texas." The word "and" is omitted, and the signer simply leans one way for California and the other way for Texas. Once you get used to this idea, it's so natural that you may find yourself doing it in verbal conversations!

We will create our UFO using the reference that I founded on google for you guys that you can use. In the video, I will show you how it looks so that you guys can download it and use it for your project. We will start by modeling with basic shapes then, later on, we will make more details. And my advice for you is when you are modeling these models spaceships, rockets, UFOs to always put a lot of detail because then it will look more complexed. We will use basic modifiers as well.
At the end of the modeling process we will put shaders on and we will create these effects emission lights for our windows, buttons, and the ring in the middle. Later I will show you how to adjust your camera and for light we will use HDRI. I will give you more detail about the course. We will animate it and it will be finished and ready to render.
