Language: English | Size: 2.27 GB | Duration: 1h 47m

Make sure your passion and direct style isn't being interpreted as aggressive
Integrate assertiveness skills to crisply articulate your message so it's heard

Discover frameworks to have hard conversations with a peer, your manager, a report or a friend
Handle manipulation and very difficult people
Requirements
Be ready with an example of a hard conversation you plan to have or have had
Description
You know the feeling: you have something difficult you want to say to a colleague or friend. But you're worried about how they'll react, figure, "Why rock the boat?," and talk yourself out of it. You attempt to ignore it, but of course, nothing changes, and you find yourself dwelling on what it is you want to tell them. You want to keep the peace and avoid a conflict, so again, you stay quiet. You try to let it go to avoid an uncomfortable conversation, but that discomfort just stays with you.My aim in creating this course was to teach you to be able to speak up when it really matters no matter how uncomfortable that idea seems to you now. The benefits of being able to do this far outweigh the discomfort, I promise. You may have trouble speaking up when you disagree, struggle to give difficult feedback to a report, need to shape the way your manager manages you, or figure out how to say "no" to what a stakeholder wants you to do.Most people shy away from these types of tough conversations, because they don't have the skills to approach them in a way that makes them feel safe. They may downplay the impact not having the conversation is having on their self-esteem but also the sheer amount of time they spend thinking about the unresolved issue.I've been teaching and coaching people on this subject for over two decades and have worked with my clients on it across industries, jobs levels and cultures. I'd like to give you all of my own hard-earned tools to help you tackle your difficult conversations and develop the muscle that will only grow stronger with practice. In this course, you will:Learn why having difficult conversations is so importantTame your anxious thinking around speaking upSpeak assertively (not passively or aggressively) to get the best outcome from your conversationPrepare your message by understanding the other person's point of view and finding common groundTackle those tough conversations, whether with a peer, manager, direct report, or friendDeal with manipulation when passive-aggression is at playThe course is full of practical tips, examples and exercises you can build on one step at a time along with invitations to put what you're learning into practice, immediately. There are no prerequisites to taking this course. If the title pulled you in, then this course is for you. Please join me in this course!

If any of this sounds unfamiliar, take this course. You can't succeed as a B2B content writer until you understand and master these eight content writing fundamentals.
Hi, and welcome to my course on the eight B2B content writing essentials. I'm Alan Sharpe, a B2B copywriter and content writer. I wrote my first piece of content way back in 1988, before the internet and before "content writing" was even a thing. In the last three decades I have transitioned from offline to online, from print to digital, and from copy to content. Today, I spend my days crafting B2B content for global brands. I know what they want, what works with today's B2B buyers, and how to craft content that generates results.
If you need to write B2B content that drives traffic, educates readers, generates leads, and moves buyers along a sales pipeline towards a purchase, then this course is for you. Check out the detailed course description below. Watch the free preview lessons. Read the reviews from my satisfied students. Then enroll now.

Earn Your PhD! Write a Doctoral Dissertation that Can Be Successfully Defended

What you'll learn
Dodge common mistakes PhD students make when "pitching" a PhD dissertation topic to their committee.
Appreciate the role of the PhD dissertation chair in the overall review and defense process.
Set in motion a strategy to get timely feedback from the chair of your PhD dissertation committee
Appreciate what is required of a PhD dissertation study (hint: it is more than crunching data).
Design a PhD dissertation proposal that will be accepted by your PhD committee.
Write a PhD dissertation study that can be successfully defended.
Adopt an attitude of pride in your dissertation.
Embrace the strategy that accounts for the difference between people who complete their dissertations and those who never finish. (Hint: it is not what you think)
Avoid "fatal flaws" when designing and writing your PhD dissertation study.
Simplify the topic of your dissertation so it does not take 5 years to finish.
Define the meaning of a random sample.
Summarize the findings of existing studies that are relevant to your PhD dissertation topic.
Formulate a logical rationale for your PhD dissertation study: Why is your study important to do in the first place?.
Sidestep common pitfalls that obstruct completion of a PhD dissertation.
Include the content required for each chapter of the PhD dissertation.
Understand the rationale for why the review process is so terribly critical and judgmental.
Distinguish the task of doing a qualitative PhD dissertation study in contrast to a quantitative PhD dissertation.
Requirements
A fundamental understanding of social science research is essential.
Description
Let me ask you question: How would you like to know how faculty members view the process of writing and defending a PhD dissertation? I created How to Write a Dissertation to help PhD and doctoral students from social science disciplines navigate their way through the process.I have experienced the process at both ends - as a PhD student and as a faculty member.
Certain actions result in success. Others result in failure. I want every PhD student to know the difference!
Many PhD students give up because they did not have a rich understanding of what it takes to develop a dissertation project, pitch the idea to their committee, write their PhD dissertation and defend it successfully. It is really not such a mind wrenching experience once you have a clear understanding of what is expected during each step of the process.
In my experience, most PhD students have little or no information about the mysterious process of writing and defending a PhD dissertation successfully.
What are the fundamental components of a study that must be included in your dissertation proposal to be acceptable to your PhD committee? What are the most common mistakes PhD students make when formulating and writing their PhD dissertation? Why do so many PhD students never complete their dissertations?
The process of writing and defending a dissertation leads some PhD students to pull all of their hair out, get divorced or even lose all of their friends. It is a process full of roadblocks, setbacks and repeated requirements to "do it over" or worse, "start over." If you idea is to have some fun, do not choose to earn a PhD degree!
After having served on over 300 dissertation committees as chair, committee member or outside evaluator for a wide diversity of academic disciplines including public policy, public administration, business administration, psychology, sociology, education, journalism, history, library science, sports medicine and political science, I have a keen sense of what it takes to succeed and why students fail.
I also have a rich understanding about why PhD and doctoral students fail to finish their PhD or doctoral dissertations and graduate with their PhD degree in hand. Course work is typically not the road block for most students. Most get stuck in the mud at the dissertation stage.
This course offers you all of my inside tips (from the perspective of a faculty member) for what it really takes to succeed. If you follow my recommendations for what to avoid and what steps to take, you will be very pleased when you earn your PhD.
Will it be a lot of work? Yep! Will you get frustrated with the process? Everyone does. Will you find yourself angry at your committee members? You betcha. Can you succeed? Yes indeed!
Understanding the process you will confront (or are confronting now) will make the difference between writing a PhD dissertation that can be defended successfully and proposing a dissertation that your committee rejects so you never get to first base. My course offers a comprehensive perspective on what you can expect at each step of the process.
I am so proud of my course that enrollment comes with a 30 day full money back guarantee - no questions asked. As one of my students you get to ask me the questions you have about the process. I promise to answer them all.

Skill Level: Intermediate | Genre: eLearning | Language: English + srt | Duration: 3h 45m | Size: 619.7 MB

Users now expect app-like experiences from mobile sites. But how do developers make their web-based projects behave like native apps? Progressive web apps (PWAs) are the answer. They fit any form factor, can function offline, and feel like native apps-without the difficulty or expense of native app development. This course shows how to turn an existing website into a progressive web app using nothing more than Vanilla JavaScript.
