What is asystole?Asystole is when your heart's electrical system fails entirely, which causes your heart to stop pumping. It is also known as "flat-line" or "flat-lining" because of how your heart's electrical activity appears as a flat line on an electrocardiogram.Asystole is a type of cardiac arrest, which is when your heart stops beating entirely. This usually makes you pass out. It's also likely that you'll stop breathing or that you'll only have gasping breaths. Without immediate CPR or medical care, this condition is deadly within minutes.Why is asystole called flat-line?Asystole is a clinical sign rather than a symptom because you can't see or feel it without special equipment. The only way to "see" asystole is by using an electrocardiogram (often abbreviated as ECG or EKG). This is a diagnostic test that involves several (usually 12) sensors attached to the skin of your chest. Those sensors, called electrodes, detect your heart's electrical activity and show it as a wave pattern on either a printout or a screen display.As an electrical current travels through your heart with each heartbeat, an EKG's waves show the strength of that current and how it moves through your heart. There's no electrical activity to create the wave with asystole, so it appears as a flat line.How does asystole work?Every time your heart beats, it does so in two steps: systole (sis-toe-lee) and diastole (dye-ast-oh-lee).Systole: Each heartbeat happens because your heart generates a small electrical current, which then moves through your heart. That current is necessary because as it travels, it triggers a squeezing action - systole - in each section of heart muscle.Diastole: This is when your heart muscle relaxes between beats. The relaxed muscle lets your heart's chambers expand and fill up with blood, and your heart will pump out that blood during the next heartbeat.When asystole happens, your heart's electrical system has no detectable activity at all. Without electrical current, your heart stops pumping entirely, and you go into cardiac arrest. When you go into cardiac arrest, this is a state known as "clinical death."

The B-BBEE Commission's 2022 Annual report made some interesting findings in terms of B-BBEE compliance and the public sector, particularly the organs of the state. It noted:1) Public Entities and Organs of the State are mandated by the B-BBEE Regulations to report annually to the B-BBEE Commission within 30 days after the approval of their audited annual financial statements and annual reports.2) 82 Organs of State out of 326 submitted their Annual Compliance Reports to the B-BBEE Commission. 3) Of the 1448 certificates that were submitted in terms of the BB-BEE regulations only 33 of those certificates were from Public Entities and Organs of State.It's possible that most municipalities are not aware that they are compelled legally to implement a B-BBEE process within their municipality and even more likely that few municipalities know how to do it.Paragraph 3.1 of CODE SERIES 000, STATEMENT 000 (gazette no 42496) states that3. APPLICATION OF THE CODES3.1 The following Entities are measurable under the Codes: 3.1.1 all Organs of State and Public EntitiesWhat is an organ of the state?The term Organs of State appears in section 239 of the Constitution of South Africa "organ of state" means-(a) any department of state or administration in the national, provincial or local sphere of government; rWhen read in conjunction with 156 it is very clear that the local spherePreferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000 defines an organ of state as 5 (iii) ''organ of state'' means-(a) a national or provincial department as deﬁned in the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No. 1 of 1999);(b) a municipality as contemplated in the Constitution;(c) a constitutional institution deﬁned in the Public Finance Management Actof government includes municipalities.It's quite clear that the intention of the B-BBEE codes made compliance with the B-BBEE codes compulsory for organs of state which includes municipalities.Whilst the BEE Codes cover a broad series of requirements, one of the requirements is the stimulation of local black economic activity. This is a constitutional requirement under section 153. An entity must-(a) structure and manage its administration budgeting and planning processes to give priority to the basic needs of the community, and to promote the social and economic development of the community.

Advanced topics covered on this video include: ring techniques, evaluation line, double end bag, hand pads, heavy bag, the rack, jump roping, and the proper use of the medicine ball. This comprehensive series is a must have resource for anyone involved in boxing.Kenny Weldon started boxing as an amateur in Houston in 1953. A native of Galena Park, Texas, Kenny had an amateur record of 216-11, winning 4 Houston Golden Gloves Titles in the process and also competing in the State and National Golden Gloves Tournaments as well as the Pan American Games, before turning pro in 1968. As a pro, Kenny went 50-7-1 claiming the Texas Featherweight Title and N.A.B.F. Super Featherweight title before retiring as a fighter in 1978.Kenny's greatest accomplishments, however, came as a coach. The program he established at The Galena Park Boxing Academy produced 316 Houston Golden Gloves Champions, 51 Texas State Amateur Champions, 17 National Amateur Champions, 3 Pan Am Medalists, and 3 Olympians. Kenny also served as a coach for The U.S. Olympic Team in 1988.As a professional coach, Kenny cornered 18 world title fights with Hall of Famers such as Evander Holyfield, Vinny Pazienza, Orlando Canizales, Mike McCallum, Raul Marquez and Pernell Whitaker, as well as local legends like Wilford Scypion, Termite Watkins, Mike Phelps, James Pipps, Joel Perez, Stephen Martinez and Lewis Wood.

This global declaration aligns essential commitments with key international frameworks, including The Sustainable Development Goals, The New Urban Agenda, The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the WHO's Age Friendly Cities Framework.Principles at the Heart of Our Program:01 Non-discrimination In this module, we place particular emphasis on the "Leave No One Behind" principle. We actively address and condemn all forms of discrimination and barriers faced by individuals in vulnerable situations, with a special focus on persons with disabilities and older individuals.
